Karina
Puente Art Show - Birds of Abundance
Saturday, February 9th, 2008, 6:30PM
to 9:00PM
Show runs through March 9th, 2008
Karina Puente has been showing at the Judith Hale Gallery since she
was sixteen and each year her work gets better.
This year her works, mostly oil paintings, depict strong exuberant
women in semi-autobiographical narratives: paintings that reflect visions.
She combines mediums as quickly as she pairs concepts. In this new
work sculptures emerge from the surface and stained glass imbedded
in her
paintings offers a new take on transparency. Her passion for her
work is clear and she holds strong intentions of expanding her ever-growing
body of work.
Puente views her pieces, created specifically for her Judith Hale
Gallery show February 9th, as her strongest paintings yet. Her
images fly free
with a compelling bird theme and the show is appropriately titled
'Birds of Abundance'.
Karina currently has a window installation on extended view at
the Elverhoy Museum in Solvang titled 'A Lambent Lament'.
She graduated top of her class from The School of the Museum
of Fine Arts, Boston.
The artwork from this show will be of high interest to her
collectors and those who want to remain on the cutting edge
of contemporary
art.
