Nancy Rieke
As the daughter of an artist, I have been sculpting and
painting since my early childhood. I used to save the red wax on the
outside of Gouda cheese and sculpted horses, dogs, cats, and ballerinas.
The underside of my elementary school desk was a great hiding place for
my creations and stuck well so I was able to play with it during class.

I have always been a social and academic achiever with a strong work ethic. Following
six years of formal fine art training at the University of Minnesota and the
University of Wisconsin, I was well prepared for my profession. I have studied
the Masters’ works at museums in Paris, London, Amsterdam, and many major
cities in America, Canada and Mexico.
I enjoy sculpting all living things. My emphasis is currently on life
size equine and human forms. Earlier works include wildlife, dogs, dancers
and bronze portraits.
As you can see from my body of work, detail, accuracy and refinement are qualities
that make my work recognizable. Because of this, my sculpture has been well
received and enthusiastically collected ever since it was first shown
in 1987. My work
is collected internationally.
