Born
in Georgia, Gene completed his high school years there. He served military
duty with the Navy, from 1948 to 1952. Gene's advanced education included
two years at the Harris Art School in Nashville, Tennessee, and three
years at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois.
He
pursued a professional career in art as a Designer and Illustrator for
Van Buren Printing in Chicago Illinois. Students benefited from his twelve-year
commitment as an Art Instructor at The American Academy of Art, in Chicago.
Gene owned, operated, and taught in galleries in Delray Beach and Pompano
Beach, Florida, as well as the Mission Gallery in Kennebunkport, Maine.
He belonged to Art Guilds and Associations in those areas. His teaching
spans a total of 26 years.
His
most recent exhibits have been in: the Mast Cove Galleries in Kennebunkport,
Maine and the Waterhouse Gallery in Santa Barbara, California.
