Dee started her career in her early twenties; she taught herself to oil paint then took up sculpture temporarily when her children were young. Dee learned her craft with a medium she developed and named LaminaProcess. With this she created hundreds of one-of-a-kind sculptures. She currently specializes in equine sculpture, however, she has created wildlife, children, famous comedians, religious, and numerous other sculpture subjects. Dee also casts work in bronze after creating the model in sculptor’s wax. She enjoys the advantage of beautiful patinas and the limited editions of bronze.
Dee is a signature member of the Women Artists of the West. She periodically exhibits with the American Academy of Equine Art and was invited to participate in the historic Lexington, KY, art exhibition: “A Salute to the World Equestrian Games, 2010,” honoring the first time the Games have been held in the United States.
