Dee started
her art career in her early twenties, teaching herself to oil paint,
then took up sculpture as a "temporary medium". She specializes in sculptures
of horses, wildlife and children. She creates her sculptures in two very
different mediums: first casting in bronze for the beautiful patinas her
foundry achieves and the ability to create editions. Her secondary medium
is one she developed and calls "Lamina Process"-- a papier-maché product
that satisfies her desire to paint.
She is
a signature member of the Horse Artists Association and the Women Artists
of the West. Her work has been shown in numerous national exhibits, receiving
many awards.
