Joe Mancuso Joe is equally accomplished in oil and pastel and he is well known for his dramatic light and color. Joe celebrates the moods each season brings and he enjoys working on location to accurately see and capture the changing light. “Although I may be attracted to a certain place or scene, it is always my goal to move beyond a literal translation and say something extraordinary about light and color in my work. Joe is a signature member with the Pastel Society of America and an artist Member of the Laguna Beach Plein Air Painters and Oil Painters Of America. His list of accolades and awards is lengthy as his work continues to attract international attention. In the spring of 2007 he was designated “Distinguished Pastelist” with The Pastel Society of the West Coast which is one of the highest possible awards for any pastel artist. His work has been published in the Pastel Journal, Santa Barbara Seasons as well as many other publications. Some of his collectors include film producer Lawrence Kasden and actor Kevin Kneeland. His work has been exhibited in the Napa Valley Art Museum and The Triton Museum in San Jose California. His paintings hang in private collections throughout North America and Europe. |
