Robert Krogle

Robert Krogle, award winning, nationally recognized impressionist painter, instructor and lecturer, brings Western, Romantic and Landscape images to life with broad, confident brush strokes. Up close, his paintings appear to be only an abstract notion, but they must also be seen from a distance before they reveal the true character of what he has painted. More »

Race to Red Rock

Frightened by the Storm
by Robert Krogle

Originally from California, Robert now resides and paints in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho where the sheer beauty of his surrounds can be inspiration enough. After four years of education at the prestigious Chouinard Art Institute of Los Angeles (the old school), Robert went right to work, painting and drawing for the film and recording industries and many Fortune 500 companies.

“I most admire and am inspired by the works of artist like Richard Schmid, John Singer Sargeant, Joaquin Sorolla and John Asaro. They have the fundamental integrity (drawing, compositional skills and color harmony) that I aspire to."

Robert’s Best Of Show Awards are numerous and has been selected to paint the posters for many of the same events. “It is important that my paintings have significance and purpose beyond a simple graphic representation. This means capturing the underlying character of my subject. I define art as not only a way of self expression but ever changing appearance of my work. I am prepared for that as I trust my collectors will be.”

A few art rules I live (and paint) by:

“Beauty is Truth”
A beautiful painting is loyal or faithful to the artist proposal. If you understand what the artist is trying to convey through his or her work, that is beautiful.

“It’s Not What I Paint, It’s How I Paint It”
Referring of course, to how I express my opinion of my subject matter through paint. This is what makes art so personal and emotional – you get a great piece of art and a piece of the artists mind.

I am truly gratified when people come to me and say “your paintings have such movement or energy" or moreover, that “your paintings inspire me to pursue my own creative interests,” which will hopefully, in turn, further enrich their lives.
