Robin
Cappon
Robin’s art education came from an eclectic exposure.
She found a special connection as the local swim instructor for preschoolers.
While she and her charges
pursued the challenges that accompany learning new skills she continually studied
the feel of the movement she would later convey in her art. More »

Movement continued to be a primary focus in her art education. Robin graduated
with honors from Mount Saint Mary’s College and the University of California
Santa Barbara with degrees in exercise physiology and physical therapy. The
next two years were spent in the study of the finer details of the human anatomy.
It was at this time that Robin began to convey the triumph of her physical
therapy clients through her sculpture. As the patient regained movement and
attained
milestones toward recovery, their courage inspired Robin’s artistic declaration.
As she found she was able to give form to her client’s achievement; both
the patient and herself experienced a sense of healing.
Some of Robin’s most recent commissions have included a 14-foot tall Clydesdale
monument for Anheuser Busch, seven life-size figures of children saluting the
American Flag for the city of Buellton, California, and a monument in progress
commissioned by personal friends of former President Reagan in honor of his life.
