Peter
Barbisan's interest lies particularly with animals with emphasis on the
endangered species. He uses various woods, marble, alabaster, onyx and
clay to create his stunning life-like pieces. He received his training
in the Santa Barbara Community College Adult Education program and studied
with the Santa Barbara Sculptor's Guild Symposium in 1994. More »

His
work was shown in 1995 at the Santa Barbara Sculptor's Guild -Faulkner
Gallery; in the 1996 Montecito Art Walk; and in 1996 and 1997 in the Santa
Barbara Art Walk. He received honorable mention at the Karpeles Manuscript
Library Show in 1996. He won Second Place in the Best of the Best Lompoc
Valley Art Show, and has placed in the top two at the Santa Barbara County
Fair since 1994, wining First Place in 1995, Director's Award and First
Place in 1996, Best of Show and First Place in 1997, and Best in Show
- First Place for Stone Sculpture, Santa Barbara Fine Arts Show 2001.
