Angie Whitson, M.I.B.A., known simply as Angie, is a sculptress,
painter and etcher. She is most noted for her limited edition
bronze sculpture and her limited edition etchings using the
softground technique with aquatint. Angie's art career began
under the instruction of Thomas Larsen. Her studies continued
at the Northridge University and the Art League of Los Angeles
under the instruction of Hal Reed. More »

Angie
is a board member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, based in
Washington, D.C. She is also permanently registered with the Smithsonian
Institute in Washington, D.C. for archival work on bronze at the Television
Academy of Arts & Sciences.
Angie
has been the recipient of five gold medals in competition, as well
as many other awards. She has created a commission work for the television
news network “Extra”. Angie’s collaboration with
Jeffries Banknote Company generated the Visa Traveler’s Check.
Among Angie’s work commissioned by the Academy of Television
Arts and Sciences is a bust of Ernie Kovacs, which resides in the “Walk
of Fame”. Look for Angie’s sculpture “Awakened” in
the film “Vanilla Skies”, starring Tom Cruise.
Most
recently, Angie had the honor of producing the bust of Bob Barker,
as well as being present with him as the unveiling took place on the
Price Is Right. Currently, her multiple bronze creations God’s
Geese are on display at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels in Los Angeles.
Her sculptures are proudly held as a part of many collections both nationally
and internationally.
Angie
won the 2002 Gold Medal Award of Sculpture at the California Art Club
Gold Medal Show.
