Sheryl Knight is an award winning plein air artist best known for her bold colors and expressive style. Besides winning best of show awards and other recognitions, she recently won the Best Landscape award at the last National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society juried show. She has had two of her paintings recently accepted into the prestigious National Parks Top 100 Paintings, and she is also being published in the Best of America Oil Painters Volume III soon to be released. She has also had a painting recently accepted in the American Women Artists National Show for 2012. She has participated in the Los Olivos Quick Draw for the last six years as well as the Los Gatos Plein Air Festival and San Luis Plein Air Festival for two years.
Sheryl has had eight one-woman shows in recent years and shown in many other juried exhibitions. Her work is widely collected in California and throughout the United States. She is a member of the California Art Club, Oil Painters of America, American Women Painters, and Plein Air Painters of the Central Coast. She grew up in Sonoma County learning to love the outdoors, but she has lived on the California Central Coast since her college days in Santa Barbara. She loves filling her paintings with the beautiful area where she lives, as well as the Sierras, the vineyards of Sonoma and Napa, and the cypress and coastal scenes of Monterey, or wherever her travels may take her. Her desire is to honor God with the work of her hands and to continue to learn and grow as an artist that her work might reflect the wondrous beauty of creation.
